Who’s, who?

We tell ourselves, “We just need customers, it doesn’t matter who we target.”
FALSE…

We actually need to be very specific, otherwise, we will struggle to engage with our customers.

Customer engagement needs an ideal customer profile; customer profiles help us target the right people, at the right times, in the right places with the right messages.

Describing our ideal customers in a written profile is called a ‘personas’.

Some simple steps will help us do this:

1.What’s their background?
Job role
Education
Behaviours, likes and dislikes

2. Demographics
Age
Gender
Income
Location

3. Buying personality
Where do they begin their research?
Are they impulse buyers?
Do they seek a referral?
Do they need approval? (company, parental, authority)
Do they need comparisons?

Create these personas, name them and even put a picture to them.
This will help you to understand the ideal customer you want and start you on the path to increase your engagement.
